It bothers me that the world wide web – a place for information and connection – has been so ruthlessly utilized for surveillance and crony capitalism.
Every website exists to sell you something. The news media pass off corporate and government press releases as breaking coverage. Social media is an ad-delivery vehicle. Every search, typed word, and clicked link is indexed and categorized.
I want to take my conversations off of social media. I want to re-establish physical, personal connections with people I like and people I want to work and collaborate with. To all this, I also believe that a genuine behavioral revolution requires these kinds of interactions.
I want to help to re-establish the honorable meaning of property and speech rights, and so, I must connect with those who expect the same. Therefore, aside from this online journal, I expect to turn my attention to mailboxes soon.
